GO ALONE!

Fog, Tower Bridge, “Keep left!”, Stonehenge, lambs, Windsor Castle, politeness…

I think you know what I’m talking about!
Yes, it’s England!
Now I would like to speak about a trip of mine which had a profound impact on me.

Once upon a time there was a young man who was fed up with almost everything.
He hated the exams, he had problems with his parents, he wanted to find his vocation and he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life.
Do you know that feeling?
I’m sure you know how I mean!
He just wanted to do something totally different!

We wrote 2000 at that time.
After a quite short preparation time, he left his hometown and went to try his luck in England. The experience opened up the world for him! His English became much better; he met different cultures, many kinds of people. He worked there for four months as a server, gardener, house-cleaner, maintenance man; and two times a week he went to the nearest town, to a College to improve his English. On weekends he visited many different churches (Catholic, Evangelical, Anglican and Baptist). Through many serious questions and reflection his faith, humanity and mentality became stronger and deeper.

We say quite often: “Do not go alone!”
You always need help to do something!
You always need somebody to go with you!
(for example girls going to the restroom!)
We always like to find the easiest way!
We are always searching for somebody or a partnership!
That’s all right, and we need it so much…

BUT…

I think sometimes you need to try by yourself,
need to go alone,
need to experience for yourself.
Sometimes you need some adventure,
some self-sufficiency,
some solitude,
and some openness
to find some brand-new, different and valuable gift!
This is what I experienced in England!

Thank you for your attention!

(Félévzárás, beszámolók, vizsgák, beadandók... Ne is mond! Én is ezzel küszködöm mostanság!
Az egyik itt készült feladatommal kívánok minden sorstársnak sok erőt, türelmet és sikert!)
